The Roding Karate Club was started in 1976 by Sensei Ray Barrow 6th Dan. Ray started to learn karate as he was inspired by watching Bruce Lee. The first club was in Hainault; just round the corner from Ray’s house. In fact, one night when the hall was not available they all trained in Ray’s front room. The club expanded to Wanstead and then to Limes Farm recruiting a lot of new students.
